This bold black and grey piece features a highly detailed lion’s head as the centrepiece, rendered with striking contrast and depth. The lion’s mane flows outward with layered linework and shading, surrounded by tropical foliage that fills the upper arm with texture and movement. The composition wraps naturally around the upper arm, making strong use of the available space.

Created at the Ghostship Shop in Liverpool, this piece is a great example of the studio’s strength in realistic animal work. The tonal range achieved through the grey wash gives the lion real presence, with the eyes drawing immediate focus. The surrounding palm leaves add a natural frame that ties the whole sleeve section together cleanly.
